March Twenty Seventh 2004
The official word is in, BRoken Social scene rocks like the crazy wodies they are. T-wood, Bren, Renee and I went to see them at the TLA and although I'm not sure everyone shared this sentiment to the extent that I did, I think they fucking rocked it. I mean they're such a great band with an unbelievable repertoire. They played all but the first and last song on You Forgot it in People, which are more like intros and outros anyway. And then there was new stuff, it was all crazy. I really can't wait for their next real album. Peace out
March Twenty Third 2004
Well this place sure has emptied out. As I continually convince you all, this is because the fun has worn out of the idea of a website and we are in a retreat of pure musical and verbal artistry. The outcome will be worth it. And Furthermore, broken social scene on friday. I am mucho psyched. Or I guess it would be muy. And Liam seems to be making excellent progress with the whole video game idea. Seems like it'll prolly be odd, but I personally am on the edge of my seat.
I really need to work on my bio, and hopefully play a little guitar, I guess I should forget any hope of watching scrubs. Well, see you all around.
March Thirteenth 2004
so its been more than 20 days since I last updated here, but I just wanted to say: Grey Album = Awesome.
February Twenty-First 2004
Hey, I might go see Broken Social Scene. March 26th, so thats a long way off. It's also my moms birthday. But it'll probably still happen. I went and checked out their website, and its right cool. Find it here. Ten people. Five Guitarists! It's crazy.
So I took a long break from writing. Music, that is. And so i started messing around with some stuff today. I personally think it would be really great to have a spy-ish sounding song. I mean, that would kick ass. And then I added a second guitar part to Deconstructive Ice Queen. which I promise, everyone will eventually hear. As soon as Liam starts playing guitar. Well. Guitar well. Whatever.
February Fourteenth 2004
Happy Valentines Day! Does anyone really know anything about St. Valentine? I sure as hell don't, he most have been a very loving guy. Estoy en la casa "Brendanova" and we're listening to the roots. And they gon' rock you. And you and you and you. It's what they built to do.
Last night we saw Mystery Men and then later "Jumping Jack Flash." Great movie starring Woopie Goldberg about Ms. Dolittle who is contacted at her computer workstation in first national bank by a British Secret Agent trapped somewhere far away without an exit visa. And other dealings with people who are (or aren't) British.
In other news, there be shoulder boxing. Liam and I had 3 matches last night, one that lasted like 30 minutes, which I regret to say he won, although falling to me in the other 2. Making us 4 and 2 all time, and also quite sore. I think that there will be many epic shoulderboxing matches ahead. And also, Happy Valentines Day.
February Eighth 2004
Well, I went snowboarding today. It was fun, but Jack Frost is a kinda small mountain. When we got there (my mom and I) we were like: hey, where's the mountain. It turned out that we were on top of it. But it was cool anyway. We both did a double black-diamond, myself purely for the sake of having done a double black diamond. How was it? Steep.
My only real issue with the mountain was the way it was crawling with shamelessly suburban suburbanites. They were being very... plentiful. We got there early but by noon it was a mountain covered with people. And they had no idea how to not hit people when flying down slopes covered in other people who were inhibited by identical circumstances. Horrendous is the best word I can think of to describe that. And I wouldn't care, but one of them hit me.
Otherwise, I was getting back in the groove. I felt like a good boarder. Five days at Snowbird means alot. In other news, Tyler is taking drumming lessons, and that makes me excited. And I gave him my set of pads. And in one week he's improved like what. so it's prolly more than his one lesson. And he had the good sense to tighten up my old as shit drums. 40 years old. Producing a nice nice jam session. And thats all for now. Also, Liam: awesome tapist/terrible typist.
January Twenty-Ninth 2004
Yeah that owned thing was kinda stupid. The tapesmith has been creating some pretty kickass pictures of various things, as I would like to think have I, but you must see the one he made of my MI6 picture. Here:
January Twenty-Sixth 2004
This week I have discovered an entire new genre of online pic, the "OWNED" pictures. It is a very peculiar group of pictures that portray something or someone getting owned, or in one case "backhowned." As far as I can tell, these are pictures that online gamers (a rather disturbing genre of people)send to each other when they are figuratively raping each other up the ass. Which is also called being OWNED. Alternate spelling are OWN3D and Pwned. and probabley PWN3D... But thats a bit excessive.
Aside from the above criticism of these pics, they're actually quite hilarious. Here, I'll show you some:
January Sixteenth 2004
Guess what? I went to GFS today to visit. And it was... I'm trying not to say Mad Cool... it was awesome. And everyone still knew me and stuff, so it was very not like visiting a new school. But it's really great and I really really hope I can go although that's a very low probability situation. Anyway, it was also nice to see all my old friends again, like Andrew and Sarah and David, and my less old friends like Taia and DSP. Who I've been told goes by Dave now. Crazy. I don't have much else to talk about now, that was pretty much it. Now I need Liam to draw me a living room with a couch and a telephone.
January Thirteenth 2004
I think there was a piece of chicken in my tea. Which is gross. We might have pancakes for dinner, that always kicks ass. I like Brendans Idea of finishing songs, trying to have 5 by his birthday, and then probably recorded soon after. I just can't help writing new songs. And then leaving them unfinished. I bought one of BJ's wallets today, I'm very pleased with it. My printer needs a new toner cartridge.
Let me tell you a story. I used to have a different computer. It was older and slower with less of everything, but we loved it and used it all the time (especially me). Then it broke. It just wouldn't start. It said the C drive had sustained too much physical damage, which is a damn shame, because everything we'd saved as a word document or whatever in the last 8 years was on it. However, I had made a disc just a week or two before with all of my word documents and jpegs and bitmaps and a good deal of things that were old saved things I'd gotten from people or downloaded off of the internet. And it was all on this disc. Then in I guess october we got this computer, and I was all excited because then I could bring all my files back. And now I can't find the fucking CD.
I had some words going on. I have a notebook where I keep all that stuff. Every night before I fall asleep I write down a few thoughts, be they lyrical or otherwise, and then go to sleep. Although that was redundant. I should post some of those here. Or at least the all star snippets. Cuz some are good. And there was also like a noodle in my tea. What kind of tea is this?
January Eleventh 2004
Well that was a long enough break for me. I've made another gif, slightly much longer and bigger than the red brick wall one, in which the insinuations take on and destroy the paper tree, which Liam is constructing as we speak or as we spoke, he may be done with it, and which will eventually be destroyed in much the same way that one was, and if that fool ever gets his act together and finds a memory stick, we'll film it. Because that's what we do.
Anyway, I'm going to put a link on the homepage to where all the gif's will be, I'm trying for one a week. Here's a link.
Other than that, I probably have something to say, but I haven't thought of it yet. I have to do my science lab report now though, and all my homework and anything else should take me all the way to the Eagles game in which we will pound the Packers.
January Fourth 2004 (still)
I'm getting somewhere in my head pertaining to my video thoughts, as in actually writing a song. It sounds alot like "Falls Apart" by sugar ray, but poppier. Ok, maybe not, but different nonetheless. Oh well, I'll get that figured out. Now I must go back to school. I mean tomorrow morning. So now I'ma go to sleep so I don't wake up at 9:45. Crazy school.
January Fourth 2004
I'm so bored, that probably means I should just go to sleep. Finished, Bel Canto, but the ending didn't sit too well with me. Would it be giving away too much to reveal that the end was very depressing to me? I think it's supposed to be hopeful, but I'll stop now because it's a very entertaining and moving book, I think everyone should read it.
But then again, I also saw Bowfinger. Twasn't very good, but it had some funny moments. SNL which I followed it with was much more funny. I was hoping they would do the Justin Timberlake episode, it was so hilarious. Kelly Ripa wasn't so bad though. And that's basically my whole day. Hopefully, as Chris Kattan and Tina Fey wished me so impersonally, I will have a pleasant tomorrow, which has suddenly become today. *Banff*
January Third, 2004
It's Saturday, as Bren said in his... column, I'll call it his Column. And like he, I am in need of finishing homework and reading Bel Canto. Bel Canto is actually wonderful, I am maybe 2/3 of the way finished. And I love to read, it's just that I almost never do read independantly because I love listening to music quite a bit more than I do reading. BUt next time I'm about to break out in videogaming, maybe I'll pick something up to read. I need to get better about that. There's still SNL and Sunday though. I always structure my schedule so there's somemthing to look forward to, be it making Brendan flatline, which I always know will not last for long, but it puts a bit of a game into it.
Hmmm... Bren and I often encounter a similar problem, we think of music videos before we think of songs. There's one called "How I tried to steal the band" which pretty much sums it up, and two others that come to mind now, one of a little wire guy breakdancing in front of a little brick wall backdrop... that'd make a nice GIF, I'll try to make one... and another with the three of us climbing a huge stone wall with demons throwing rocks at us ending in a vicious swordbattle in which we beat the shit out of the posthumously inhabited body of Aurthur Ashe with tennis rackets. Does that make any sense or sound at all fun? Well it is. Now I'm seeing if my visions can bring forth chord progressions... Tata for now! ...bounce...bounce...bounce...
January Second, 2004
Hey, I'm back to update already. The uncanny resemblance to a blog I think this will have is frightening, so I should get Liam to figure out a comments box. The other day I was taking inventory of what songs we have and in what states of completion. We have The Pirate Song, which could be done, but we'd probably like to add bass and drums. The vocals and classical guitar alone have been described as hollow. 3 Day Weekend could is nearly done being written, it's really not intricate in any way. And at last there is a song about morning which I've pretty much written. I can try to get it played by us as soon as Liam learns guitar. His part wouldn't be hard. So those are not too far off. Then Brendan has a number of songs that I believe he's only minimally shared with me, which he may be doing things with in his head.
January First, 2004 (The Beginning)
Hey, look at me, I'm being Jasper. First off, I must show you all to my Xanga site, its a weblog, you know, an online journal. Why here it is
Now I guess I'll say a bit about myself. My name is Jasper Tobias Sneff Nanni, but here I go by JSN. It's much easier to type quickly. As I would hope you know from the little ticker at the beginning, I am the [lead] guitarist. Actually, as of right now, I'm the only guitarist, but there is some speculation as to the eventual guitaristing of Liam. Heh. I've always wanted to know someone named LB. Wait... I already did. So scratch that.
Anyway, I was going to talk about myself, like I always do. And particularly my preference in Music, because Music is what I live and breath. I listen to at least 8 hours a day. That would be a great mix of Radiohead, REM, Hedrix, Bowie, Beck, OutKast, Cake, Coldplay, Broken Social Scene, The Strokes, The White Stripes, Dr. Dre, The Doors, Moby, and Natalie Imbruglia. Of course thats not all, its just the farthest reaches of my library, so everything in between also. Well, hope you find me interesting. Toodles! Wait... I've never said that in my life... Toodles! I mean... Toodles! I mean... Toodles! I mean... Toodles! I mean Bye!
