Behind the scenes at B&B

"The Bold and the Beautiful" premiered on the 23 of March in 1987.

The series is in production Monday to Friday, 50 weeks per year and tapes approximately 250 episodes each year.

After a rough commute, Bobbie Eakes (ex - Macy) is ready for some real work!

The actors typical work date is as follows: the actors receive their scripts 1-2 days before taping and usually memorize the script the night before; they arrive at CBS at 9:00 AM and go immediately into the hair and makeup department. There is a 1/2 hour rehearsal which begins at 9:30 and extends to 11 AM. They have a one hour lunch break and begin taping that day's episode at 12 noon. The work day usually ends by 6 PM.

Katherine Kelly Lang (Brooke) receives a last minute touch-up from makeup man Chris Escobosa.

The B&B Fan Club, which includes over 500 members from all over the world, publishes newsletters, answers all fan correspondence and holds an annual luncheon once a year. Some of the most popular actors maintain personal fan clubs and make personal appearances from time to time around the States and in Europe.

Ronn Moss (Ridge) receives a little help with his fan mail from fan club president Amy Farina, who is visiting from out of town.

Bradley Bell serves as supervising producer and head writer, Hope Harmel Smith and John Zak are producers, Ron Weaver is coordinating producer, Rhonda Friedman is associate producer.

John McCook (Eric) stops by the production booth to talk a little shop with producer Hope Smith (standing), director Mike Stich and associate director Nancy Eckles.

The series has a four member directing staff which alternate episodes on a rotating basis. The directors are John Zak, Deveney Marking, Michael Stich and Susan Flannery.

Susan Flannery (Stephanie) and (ex-) B&B producer/director John Zak, take a minute out of their day to smile - sort of - for the camera.
