This poem was part of a performance I did at college called "V" each of us had to write our own monologue and this was mine. This poem would not be here if it wasnt for Rachel Connor one of my college tutors, she wrote parts of this poem also. Thanx

Gone To Soon

	It's so lonely for a nine year old. No one to talk to. Theres no one to talk to when your dead. No children to play games with. I'm all alone. I have Lucy, I have my doll. All i have is my doll. I was lonely as when i was dying too. Pneumonia ate up my tiny lungs, A blanket to close and near A punishment for others wrongs, Suffocated by phlegm and fear. Can Susan come and visit me? Can Sara call, can Sally come and say hello. All s. All S's. Ssss. Like air escaping, From tiny secret hidden places. And no one came, they placed me in a plastic bag, untouchable, remote And no one meant to leave me grounded, A see-through baloon that cannot float. Now I am that doll, Dead. Gone. Alone. I have so much to say but am struck dumb. Mute. I wander aimless, I do not float. I think I have been here for a very long time, there are spirits that i recognise. My brother is here, I think. They have moved on, their time was up, there were meant to die. I wasnt supposed to, it was not my time. They mutter , little wishes above my head and me the well, No hole to drop a coin into So they Throw me truths and wait to here a calming bell. Still silent, still silence. ----END----
