KAI |
In the opening scenes Kai, who had just witnessed the complete destruction of his
race, was executed by His Divine Shadow, after deliberately crashing his ship
into the control pod in a brave attempt to destroy his enemy. The Prophecy had
stated that His Shadow would be destroyed by the Brunnen-G, but due the arrogant
nature of this entity, instead of incinerating Kai's lifeless body, he decided
to reanimate him. |
For over 2000 years Kai was used as His Shadow's Chief Assassin, having no memories
of his former life. He was purely a vessel controlled by His Shadow, an animated
corpse who was kept "alive" using a substance called Proto-blood. His body
is preserved in a cryogenic freezer, where he spends most of his time, reducing
the need for Proto-blood (which is in very short supply). He has no heart beat
and he does not breathe, but he can move about normally. However, His Shadow
did not anticipate Kai becoming sentient again. |
Not only did Kai regain his own memories, but assimilated thousands of other memories,
including memories from the ruling His Shadow who had killed him over 2000
years ago. Kai is highly intelligent, skilled, and extremely knowledgable, a
being of deep thought but few words. He is extremely dextrous and skilled in his
profession. After all, he has had over 2000 |
According to Thodin, Kai was de-carbonised, and has the ability to regenerate, including
re-attaching severed body parts. As he is already dead, he cannot be killed
in the literal sense. |
However, Kai needs Proto-blood to sustain him, and if this runs out, he will never
be able to regenerate. |
Although Kai's ancestors were originally from the Dark Zone, (they vacated their
planet because their sun was becoming supernova) Kai had never visited his ancestral
home. Until now. |
