Dr. Ester B. Ogena Director DOST-SEI 3/F PTRI Bldg. Bicutan, Taguig, Metro Manila Dear Dr. Ogena, In reference to the S&T Scholarship Status memorandum dated November 19, 2002, I would like to appeal for the reinstatement of my "suspended with tuition fees" effective start of 2nd semester, SY 2002-03. My scholarship was suspended officially "due to a grade of 4.0 in CS 140". If that is the case, I was already a third year student when I got the conditional grade which I believe the suspension must not happen. You established the rules that one grade of 4.0 in the third year onwards has nothing to do with suspension or termination whatsoever. It still hurts my pride that I suffer the same weight of penalty with people who got a grade of 5.0. I never failed a subject. Up to this point in time, I am still thinking why do I have to suffer a scholarship suspension that I do not deserve. I faced suspension and was told to pass all of my subjects and maintain a GWA of 2.75 the next semester to regain my scholarship. I did pass all of my subjects that semester and garnered a GWA of 1.9. I hope you grant me again my full scholarship privileges this semester. Our family has been struggling all semester long to cope with academic expenses. I would also like to inform you that this coming year is my graduating year in college. Being a DOST scholar again in the most anticipated year in college would make a BIG difference. |
