Jagged alliance 2

Review by : The Mad Nutter

Format : PC

Type : RPG / Strategy

Players : 1

You are hired to take a small team of mercenaries (merc´s), and liberate the country Arulco from its ruthless queen. Each merc cost a certain amount of money to hire depending on how good he or she is, so in the start you don’t have enough money to hire the more skilled ones. All of the merc´s got their own personality, voice and stats so you are bound to hate some and like others, else you can create you very own merc. Once dropped off you can go anywhere in the country you like, but the closer to the capital you get the more the enemy forces fight back. So you slowly fight your way through the country as your merc´s and weapons improve.

The combat is very much like in the x-com games only improved. It starts out in real-time but once you encounter the enemy it changes into a turn based mode. Each merc then got a number of action points (depending on his/her stats) to move shoot and so on, once you are done the computer move and then you again. Normally you fight against the queen’s men but there also are wild animals and a special Sci Fi option. If turned on a mine will be invested by monsters which come out a night. You men fire burst’s at them but they keep coming, and when you go to kill the monster queen be sure to pack a lot of bug spray.

Many may find the game a bit to hard to get started on, but I recommend it to people who like military strategy games and are up for a real challenge.
