Kingpin : life of crime

Format : PC

Review by : Kahuna Bigfish

Players : 1

Type : First person shooter

Here's the story...your some tough mutha bitch who cops a hiding from two of Nikki's boys, and get some 'advice' about not going near Poisonville again (some cheap industrial hole). But thats too easy...and besides, you want revenge. So go forth on your quest: whoop some ass, and show them whos boss round here. The game is based over 6 main levels/city's, each with smaller levels inside of them.

The Graphics are sweet, but then again, thats why your gonna need 64MB of Ram, and a video card that supports OpenGL or 3dfx run modes. Level architecture is great, and details are high. It supports 8MB Textures, and boasts individual pain skins, which are much better than, for example, Quake 2 (no more shooting guards in the leg and finding bullet holes sprayed through their torso). This is a good comparison also, as Kingpin runs on a modified version of Quake 2's engine. Movement is smooth, and weapon effects are top. Speaking of weapons, there are many different ways of inducing death and/or torturing people in this game. These include the Flame Thrower (yes please), Heavy Machine Gun, Rocket Launcher, crowbar (you pick this up off a guy for $1, beat him to death with it, and get your money back...sweet as) and of course the Tommy Gun. Sounds are nice and clear, but for the full effect, i suggest some nice subs, and surrounds so you can truly hear the hatred when hearing the words "F*** you, ya piece of shit pussyass, better step the F**K off", and to hear the true pain levels he feals as you pelt him with bullets/flamethrow him/beat him to death (heheh, served him right!). You may want to turn the sound down when parents are around, especially if you are a younger one (i know from experience, not that my mum really cared that much).

This game is damn difficult, unless you cheat like a bitch (is this game influencing my language?). Gameplay is not the best, as once you have finished their ain't much left to do, and the storyline is'nt really that hot (although much better than say Doom or Duke Nukem), but during the game, their actually are some things you have to figure out using your brain instead of a weapon. Yes, there is a tonne of violence in this game, unless you install that crusty version with no swearing and blood etc.

Overall i rate this game highly, and reccommend any parent of a child 5 years old + should buy this game...haha! no, actually dont, it is extremely violent and morally bad (not that any of u reading this would probably care) and is rated M/R16/R18 depending where your at.
