Released all the way back in 1997 Final Fantasy 7 still remains one of the greatest games ever to grace the Playstation and some might say a game only bettered by it's successor Final Fantasy 8. If you ask anyone who owns the game Final Fantasy 7 what they think of the game very few will say that it is not a good game. It can be proven that Final Fantasy 7 is a great game, it is mentioned in the Guinness Book of Records 1999 for being one of the fastest selling games in history and millions of Japanese gamers bought a Playstation for the sole purpose of playing FF7.

You play as Cloud Strife a 21 year old Mercenary who joins the underground rebel faction AVALANCHE. AVALANCHE are fighting against the evil mega-conglomerate corporation Shinra (a bit like Microsoft really) to stop them using the planet's lifestream as Mako energy. You are told the details about AVALANCHE's plight while blowing up one of their power stations. This however is not the main story of the game but I won't spoil that for you. The in-game graphics maybe a bit cartoony and the character's blocky hands might get on your nerves but all of this can be overlooked when you see the game's FMV sequences. The graphics here are nothing less than mind-blowing. The plot is deeply involving and you won't realise just how quickly time will pass. After less than a day playing you won't care about anything else other than the fate of Cloud and his chums. If you love involving games with a lifespan no less than 30 hours (if you don't take part in any side quests) then this is most definitely the game for you.
