Gorditas Press Release
March 11, 2001

Shortly after 4 PM on March 11, 2001, Raymond Fertona (Editor of the Gorditian Times) recieved a death threat from somewhere in the heart of Rattanjeetland. In the threat, the message, "Don't prod your head where it doesn't belong" rained prominently and aggresively. Investigators assume that the threat is a direct response to the Gorditian Times Editorial on President Aladdin. We, the Republic of Gorditas, being a nation of democracy and justice, value Mr. Fertona's opinions and his desire to voice them. However, we do not value threats in any form against any of our citizens. As a result, we, the government of Gorditas, have decided to assign a security detail to Mr. Fertona until investigators unanimously deem that the threat on his life has passed. As well, in light of the recent terrorist bombing on the Steel Glider and this recent threat on Mr. Fertona's life, we with great regret declare that on March 12, 2001 at 12:00 PM, the Government of Gorditas, with the support of its military, will restrict travel between the Republic of Gorditas and Rattanjeetland, Kamograd, and El-Hussaq. This declaration will effectively ban any transports originating from these countries from entering Gordtitas's land, sea, and air space, and it will be enforced by the Gorditian Air Force (GAF).
