Buenos Altos Press Release
Dear Citizens of the Mapp and of Buenos Altos:
The preemptive strike launched this week was a difficult but necessary action. Since the invasion [of] her ally, Vaticon City, the [Pharaoh] has shown herself to be thirsty for both land and blood, conquering Vaticon City and quashing three rebellions. This expansionist thirst is further demonstrated by ignoring and stalling diplomatic negotiations. In fact, the [Pharaoh] has yet to make any firm offer for peace, and has made only vague gestures towards a settlement, while commencing a military buildup. This buildup threatened our existence as it would ensure the [Pharaoh’s] domination in the northeast corner of the [Mapp] and give her the ability to conquer Buenos Altos. This threat could not be ignored. That is why Buenos Altos forces had to take difficult, but necessary defensive measures against Meijing.
Despite controlling Meijing, we are still interested in a diplomatic resolution that will ensure our security. Currently, the leaders of Buenos Altos are considering a relocation of Meijing during the next land rush so that we would no longer share the same border, thus providing some security assurances. However, this proposal is still in the discussion stage. Ultimately, it is the [Pharaoh] and her willingness to negotiate that controls Meijing’s destiny as we will attempt, yet again, to resolve this situation diplomatically.
