World citizens of the Mapp,

On December 30, 2001, at 00:00 Hours Mapptime, the fears of the world became reality as the nation of Buenos Altos launched a pre-emptive strike against its neighbor, Meijing. Stating that the act was to prevent Meijing expansionism and military build-up, the nation of Buenos Altos declared its desire to stop Meijing from becoming the dominant power in the Northeast.

However, it should be suggested that such alarms about Meijing superiority are unprecedented. Meijing's plans to construct a superbase would not have shifted the balance of power into its favor. In the Northeast there currently are two superbases. One under the control of Rattanjeetland and the other controlled by the aggressor nation, Buenos Altos itself. Therefore, claims by Buenos Altos about its fear for survival clearly demonstrates the nation's hypocrisy.

Given the recent history of Buenos Altos' expansionist ventures, first with Kamostopol and now with Meijing, it is the decision of the government of Gorditas to initiate Operation Restored Order. Its goals will be to liberate the fallen nation of Meijing, as well as, deter further expansion through military means by Buenos Altos.

Our fathers, mothers, brothers, and sisters of the Armed Forces have trained long for such a day. As much as we wish that this day never arrive, at 22:21 January 9, 2002, I, the Prime Minister of Gorditas, ordered the courageous men and women of the Gorditian Military into action. To fulfill the mission that they swore to uphold, the security of a nation, proliferation of peace and order, and the protection of the weak, even at the cost of their lives. We can now only watch knowing that these young men and women have the greatest military equipment and training that exists.

May bravery and the support of a nation be with them.
