El-Hussaq Press Release
October 7, 2001

President El Cid II breaks his silence regarding the Ethnarch's release:

"My fellow citizens, like all of you I was surprised at what I heard from our former allies in Rattanjeetland. However it is time to clarify some facts. When we joined the Rattanjeetland [Confederacy], it was a beaten up power with no major role on the [Mapp]. We[,] through our diplomatic ties[,] convinced the great nations of Miketon, Samchorage, Kamograd, Nathartica, and Dickens [Peninsula] to join this [Confederacy]. We have done a great deal to help Rattanjeetland reach its status today. However Rattanjeetland watched as El-Hussaq Prime was taken over and did nothing to help restore it [-] not even a press release full of propganda, the kind [they] are very good at issuing[;] [and] now it is promising to support Siggary against us. I must say I am not surprised at all, for treason is nothing new to the Ethnarch. Just ask the people of Samchorage who were destroyed due to his treason. Finally I would like to inform the [Ethnarch] that he can't denounce our protectorship for we already did. To all remaining [Rattanjeetland] [protectorates] I say that freedom and independence are the [two] most wonderful things the [Mapp] can offer and you have the right under the Consulplatz treaty to leave at will. I urge you to do so[,] [for] you have [no] need for a protector who [devours] your land in a certain Land Rush.

- El Cid II
