SPQJ, LINDSHOLM, AND GORDITAS SUSPENDED FROM RUBICON
The Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission and President of Rubicon today enacted the so-called "anti-aggression clause" in the Rubicon operating rules. According to this clause, any nations deemed to be aggressors would have their memberships in the institution suspended until reparations were made or the allegations dropped. On January 28th the Great Powers Forum of the Congressional Parliament issued a press release suggesting that Lindsholm, Gorditas and Jared would likely be branded as aggressors at the upcoming congress at Jäbourgh. Consequently, the leadership of the SEC and Rubicon decided to suspend the memberships of the three nations. While suspended the Rubicon assets of these nations will continue to generate funds, however these funds will not be disbursed. Instead, they will be held in a frozen bank account in the SecretBank.
The Emm agreed with the decision to uphold the founding principles of Rubicon and said that he respected the authority and decision of the Congressional Parliament.
This, he claimed, was also why he surprised the Blackadderhouse with his resignation today. Free from the diplomatic rigities of political life, the out-going Emm had a candid interview with members of the press. He expressed satisfaction with his work in building up Rubicon and contributing to the economic prosperity of the mapp. He also expressed satisfaction with the Hanseatic initiative, and likened it to a "political version of the Rubicon initiative, which will pay off handsomely in the future to those that invest in it now."
The out-going Emm also expressed frustration with some leaders on the mapp for their inability to recognise the usefulness of the Hanseatic League and their "obcession with precedents, rules and other trivialities which strangle innovation." The Emm likened the Siggarrian leadership, which he had been courting as a potential addition to the Hanseatic League, to Soviet-style, anal retentive bureaucrats who lacked foresight and were the sort of people who were "going no where very quickly and with a lot of pointless fuss".
The Emm also reflected on the disgusting greed of the Lindsholm and Gorditan leadership, and he cautioned them not to force their weight around as they have been, "soon they may find that they are too fatheaded to avoid one royal come-uppance." The Emm cautioned the Chancellor Marcusburg about the potential consequences of guilt by association, likely referring to the GX. After that, he expressed gratitude for the confidence in the Hanseatic initiative expressed by both the Denisian leadership and the Buenos Altan government in exile.
And having said that, he left.
The Emm did not comment on the final piece of legislation to come out of his administration: today's offer of the Terra Nova Colony to the people of Meijing. Instead, a spokesperson said that this initiative was "intended to ameliorate any feelings of ill-will that recent events in the northeast have engendered amongst the peoples of Meijing and some observers on the mapp."
The new Emm will be selected by the Senate late tonite.
