Afraid of attack from Samchorage over the Telegram Incident and of its declining influence on the Mapp, Ethnarch Jussolini took a large step towards self-defense. In employing mandatory conscription for all those between the ages of 18 and 25, the Rattanjeetland armed forces increased from 89,000 to 473,067. Although the militia cannot be employed at first, its presence will increase Rattanjeetarr resistance in times of occupation to such extremes that it will be exceedingly difficult to conquer the nation. Surprisingly, the Adiposia, Rattanjeetarr Parliament, approved the motion even though a Socialist Party controls the organization. In its crucial third vote, the Parliament passed conscription with 60.1% support. Claims of self-defence had rallied the politicians in favor of the proposal although further military reforms were soundly defeated. Samchorage appeared aggressive to Rattanjeetland during its fury over the insulting telegrams sent by the latter. Growing increasingly paranoid, Ethnarch Jussolini began full-scale preparations for an invasion from Samchorage. The pacifist organization, D.O.R.A., strongly condemns the actions taken by the Ethnarch.
