Lindsholm Press Release
Pandemonium rules the streets in Lindsholm, as protesters gather to show their pent up anger at the latest press release coming from El-Hussaq’s newly elected President, Aladdin. The people are demanding justice for the attack by the Confederacy upon the entire United Commonwealth.
The people are intensely irate at two statements found within El-Hussaq’s recent press release. The two statements are as follows:
“The new president apologized for what he called "mistakes of the past".”
Opposition parties, as well as members of the ruling Right party all joined together in front of the Riksholm in order to pressure the Supreme Viceroy to take action upon the inflammatory statements issued. The Supreme Viceroy, being a man of his people, and a man of action, greeted the crowd among a loud outburst of support.
When the crowd quieted down, the Supreme Viceroy of Lindsholm had this to say:
“Due to the recent turn of events, especially concerning the new elections held within El-Hussaq, I would like to publicly state that the so-called “apologies” that were issued will not be taken seriously. In no way, shape or form will the people of Lindsholm be willing to accept these statements at face value. In fact, I am deeply angered by the fact that President Aladdin thinks so little of Lindsholm that he would offer up such petty excuses for the outbreak of war.
By doing so, strong action is needed to make sure that this shall never happen again. By this token, I am putting forth a motion into Congressional Parliament to investigate this matter thoroughly. The people of Lindsholm will not rest until this matter has been settled, most notably by a higher power. Taking this further, I would like to publicly state that we reserve the right to formally charge El-Hussaq with Conspiracy, for the next upcoming Congress.
As I believe that this matter does not pertain directly to what happened DURING the war, by the treaty, we still have the right to formally charge El-Hussaq in CP on grounds of Conspiracy. Thus El-Hussaq cannot be exempt, by the Riksholm Treaty from this charge within CP.
As well, other terms have not been cleared up from the treaty, most notably that not one formal document has come across the Official Desk of the Supreme Viceroy, indicating formal apologies and not one member has come outright and stated that the take full responsibility for the war. And the El-Hussaq press release is not considered a formal apology.
Adding to this, the lack of any formal apologies leads me to wonder if the Confederacy has resented their “aggressive ways” by their lack of admission that they were wrong in attacking Lindsholm. Because of this fact, I feel that the Confederacy felt and feels that they were doing the right thing in attacking Lindsholm, such that they will continue to be aggressive. Thus, I will retain control over Kamograd until I feel that the Confederacy is willing to denounce its aggressive ways and take full responsibility for what happened in the war.”
The Supreme Viceroy left the stage to intense jubilation coming from the crowd, as they feel that democracy has been done, and their vote was counted.
President Aladdin could not be reached for comment upon this statement, but based upon “misleading information from the spy agency” confirmed that the President had retreated to his country home with either a woman named Jasmine, or an ape named Abu.
