Responding to accusations by the Weimaran government concerning the sale of a ‘space missile-launch station’ to that country, the Prime Chancellor of Marcusburg vigorously denied any involvement with New Weimar during a speech to the Hall of Affiliates at the Fletplase (Marcusburg Parliament).
“These allegations are preposterous. Although we sympathize with the plight of the people of New Weimar, we condemn the baseless claims of their government. We do not possess a ‘space missile-launch station’, whatever that is, and we adhere to a strict policy of not selling technologies abroad regardless.”
Sources at the Marcusburg Foreign Office report that diplomats are quite annoyed with the Weimaran claims. “The last thing we need is to become implicated in a messy regional war that will not serve our interests at all,” said an unnamed individual.
“The Queen of New Weimar has long made her propaganda, shall we say, ‘eloquent’. In the past, she attempted to override the international financial statement. Today, she claims that her country has ‘CC-938’ missiles when New Weimar clearly lacks even a single missile battery. Tomorrow, she could assert that gravity actually throws things upwards. All this is simply an attempt to scare the Zimbabnese.”
“We will not let our reputation be dragged through the mud,” he added.
