A New Samchorage |
Excitement spread throughout Samchorage as the Prime Minister of Samchorage ended official military dictatorial rule in the Empire. In response to growing fear and dissent among his people, the Prime Minister agreed to grant basic civil liberties such as freedom of religion and freedom of speech. As well, a Parliament would be established, known as the "Samokritzg", with an accompanying Senate. Samchorage becomes a Republic as of immediately. Three parties, the right-wing Hawk Party, the Conservative Party, and the Centre Party, would be allowed to compete for control of the Samokritzg. However, the Prime Minister, now President, retains ultimate control of the country. As well, the price Samchorageans have to pay is full conscription for 2 months of each year. Relations between neighbouring democracries such as Marcusburg, Rattanjeetland, and Lindsholm are expected to improve. Human rights groups based in New Weimar call the move positive but urge caution.
