Little did the President of Samchorage know that by granting civil liberties to his once highly constricted Empire, he would be opening a Pandora's Box. On July 10, 2000, years of pent-up pressure by those who held a vendetta against the government exploded onto the streets all at once all over Samchorage, whether it be the Prime or the Colonies. The police has proved itself impotent over the matter and repression by the army has only enhanced the tension in the air. Protests range from covert operations carried out by terrorist organizations, such as the one which destroyed an oil derrick, to the massive peaceful rally outside the Presidential Palace. Paralyzed and crippled by internal insurrection, the Samchorage government has frozen all diplomatic workings and in effect, war with Rattanjeetland has been avoided. The future of the Samokritzg appears bleak, however, as it is under attack from the people for being a rubber-stamp for the regime while the government accuses it of spawning dangerous civil disobedience. Members of the Samokritzg have been surrounded by protesters and are under police protection. Some accuse the government of holding the people's representatives hostage. As protesters take to the major thouroughfares of the Empire, trade and contact with the outside world has been disrupted. The world watches as a Great Power erupts into flames...
