SAMCHORAGE ATTACKS NEW WEIMAR
"At around 10:00 PM today, Samchorage launched attacks against New Weimar with EMP shockwaves and missile. New Weimar's rapidly growing colony has attracted the more adventurous from the prime...and they got too adventurous for their own good. Some adventured far into Samchoragean territory, and had to be escorted out by the military, several times. In accordance to God-given right to protect ourselves from any violations of our sovereignty, Samchorage acted.
"As this was nothing but making a point to New Weimar, Samchorage would be happpy to announce that the control of Weimar's Prime has been relinquished to CP and we would be more than happy to rebuild all the destroyed structures in the Prime, with our money, in order to normalize the CP auction that is planned to go ahead soon.
"Since we are seriously considering and debating over-night of the annexation of the Weimar's colony (which is occupied at present), in order to avoid a similar incidence from Weimar. Thus we are offering, in case of annexation, Jaredian province as compensation for the loss of Colony from the CP auction package.
"Also, we offer our deepest and sincere apologies to El-Hussaq Republic Officials, as Samchorage military crossed into their land accidentally. Samchoragean military officials and the Administrator had misunderstandings which led to this regrettable incidence. Samchorage military officials and politicians reached an agreement to send in troops to the Weimar's Prime, then either: a) get control of peace treaty OR b) relinquish the control of Prime immediately to CP right after its occupation. However, Samchoragean officials had thought that from New Hope, only El-hussaq lies in between New Hope and the Prime...only to find out later that there are more countries to traverse in order to reach Weimar's Prime. We again offer our apology and we would like to take this opportunity to ask if El-Hussaq desires to hold meeting to have some compensation for Samchorage's mistake. Samchorage and El-Hussaq have always been close from Confederacy and on...so we hope that El-Hussaqi officials don't take it to heart our mistake. As there is no hotline between our two countries, we had assumed (from our past friendship) that our request for use of El-Hussaqi territory to transport troops would be accomodated, and so we acted. As soon as we learned of our mistake, we immediately pulled back the troops from El-Hussaq. We hope to hear from El-Hussaqi officials soon."
The Samchoragean government went into emergency session in order to discuss a possible annexation of the Weimar's Colony at midnight, October 4th. The officials have commented before the session in a press release (shown above) that they are leaning towards annexation. We are unsure when the session would end at this moment.
Meanwhile, in Samchorage's streets and homes, people were glued on to TV sets in order to hear the latest on this surprise attack, since the government made no hint of attack against New Weimar. As live coverage of the war was broadcasted by STC over the airwaves, on TV and radios, people were shocked to know that a surprise attack has been launched. After hours of watching, the people were relieved to know that no ground war occured between the troops and no civilian casualty has occured in Jaredian province. After the news of victory and a press release have been issued by the government, people were celebrating the safety of their sons and daughters in their homes & sports bars which had been broadcasting the war instead of local sports. Though some peace activists protested in streets, they demonstrated peacefully and no one is reported to be hurt. When interviewed, the people in bars and on streets were embarrased that Samchoragean military command blundered and sent troops into El-Hussaq Republic but most of them thought that El-Hussaq would not mind this blunder since the two countries have been always close, and an official apology has been issued. However, the peace activists added that though they are glad of zero casualty on our side, they are sad of 22,472 Weimar casualties.
It would be interesting in the present political climate, to see how the Great Powers--GX, Siggary, and Rattanjeetland--reacts to this situation. Analysts in Samchorage are split over what Samchorage's fate would be when charged at the next congress and how some powers would react in accordance to the results of the congress or in a unilateral action.
