Jenneva Independent
Former Kamograd Protectorate Gains Formal Independence

After a few days of brisk negotiation, the Empress of Jenneva and the Prime Chancellor of Marcusburg quickly agreed to a new political arrangement between the two powers. Emerging from the Fletplase, the Marcusburg Parliament, the Empress and Prime Chancellor signed a mutual defensive pact in light of Jennevan independence on the Yachtfew Grounds in front of the international media on a sunny autumn day.

The newfound independence of Jenneva comes as no surprise to many as it is simply wrapping up the diplomatic mess with which Marcusburg was left when the Former President of Kamograd abdicated to that nation. Kamograd was once Jenneva's protector under a shaky agreement negotiated via trilateral talks in the Jenneva Crisis. In these negotiations, Marcusburg helped broker an arrangement amicable to both Jenneva and Kamograd even though the latter nation had invaded and conquered the former. After Kamograd's abdication, Marcusburg gave Jenneva de facto independence and the goodwill between both nations remained strong. The diplomatic ceremonies in Marcusburg are only a solidification of that fact.
