Another Uprising
Like a broken record, the denizens of Vaticon City tried once again to overthrow their Meijingese oppressors. On the night of November 13, 2001, only one day after their initial attack on Meijing, the Popemeisters, an underground resistance movement, rose up again in arms. Although under occupation by Meijing, the Popemeisters were still able to coordinate a fighting force estimated to be around 13,000 strong.
The Popemeisters effortlessly infiltrated the halls of power which the Dope had controlled only days before. Numerous attempts to put down the insurrection by Meijingese troops failed. A massive hate rally proposed by the Popemeisters never materialized and widespread riots also failed. Instead, localized pockets of resistance sporadically sprung up throughout the country like wildfire. However, each time the Meijingese troops fought back against the Vaticonians, the degree of force used was increased.
Finally after hours of urban warfare, the Meijingese military forcibly put down the revolt resulting in 12,597 casualties. During the battles, the Dope publicly issued a statement expressing his deepest regrets for the popular insurections against the Meijingese, and denied any rumors that he had ordered the attacks. Once again as the clock strikes twelve, Meijing is in full control of Vaticon City.
