The Phoney War
No Fighting, Not Even a Bullet Fired

A week has past since Buenos Altan troops entered Vaticon City and actual fighting has yet to occur. The peaceful merger between Meijing and Vaticon City, known as the Bastard Anschluss, has quietly been implemented and both governments are carrying on as normal. In fact, an eerie arrangement is present in Vaticon City. Meijingese and Buenos Altan troops sit in Vaticonian cafes discussing military strategy and their families are having daily picnics in the Vaticonian park. Many in Meijing and Vaticon City simply see the troops as guests.

Officially, however, the Pharaoh and Dope of Meijing-Vaticon City are urging that Lord Somerset of Buenos Altos withdraw his troops. For days, the Buenos Altan Foreign Office has not commented or made any official action. Analysts do not know what to expect since the Vaticonian Wars have so far turned out to be nothing but phoney.
