Miketon Hosts Second Jeetanics
Still riding high from a Casbah Cup win by the Miketon 'Cudas after a hard fought series against the Marcusburg Inferno in the MHL, the people of Miketon again have a reason to celebrate as the International Jeetanics Committee in Rattanjeetland announced on December 18, 2001 that the Corporation of Miketon shall be the host nation of the Second Annual Jeetanic Games.
Congressional officials have officially acknowledged the decision of the International Jeetanics Committee (a private organization) and the monetary prize of A1,000,000K shall be wired to Miketon within days. Already, tourists from countries around the Mapp are swamping the telephone lines and internet servers have crashed throughout the world as they struggle to book hotel rooms in preparation for this historic event. Construction crews are working around the clock in Miketon preparing to set up the new Jeetanics village and other facilties needed for the international sporting event to take place.
The hosting of the Jeetanics should be a tremendous boost to the Mapp's Corporate state. From its founding as a lone McDonald's in prairie grassland, Miketon has matured into an efficient economic machine under the guidance of its CEO. However, that is not to say the nation hasn't encountered obstacles in the past. Right after its first five-month plan began, the War of 2K1 swiftly destroyed all short-term hope of a prosperous future. Then the ill-fated Zeradit War destroyed most of Miketon's army and knocked the momentum out of the reconstruction process from the previous world war.
With the second annual Jeetanics to start within days, Miketon has opened a new chapter in its history. Experts predict that the Jeetanics will sway normal Miketonians into more of a "celebrating" mood and hospital obstetricians will have a busy three months coming up ahead.
