Josephville Arms
JOSEPHVILLE - On the second day of the Ethnarch's visit to the Guevedoco in Josephville, he initiated a series of reforms geared to flexing the strength of the newfound Confederacy. As of immediately, a transnational Confederate Army is to be formed.
All current members of the Empire of Rattanjeetland Army will be members of the new Confederate Army. Josephville will undergo a work-for-welfare program scheme in which welfare recipients will have to serve time in the newly formed Confederate Army.
Like most institutions in the Confederacy, the Ethnarch has complete control over the use of the newfound army. In effect, Josephville is having its military might being taken away from it. The Ethnarch sees no problem with the development since under existing treaties, Josephville does not possess the right to arm. With the work-for-welfare program, Josephville gains the prestige of an army without the paperwork.
Many groups are protesting the way by which the Ethnarch announced the development as the Adiposia has yet to hold elections. Without a sitting government, the Ethnarch in effect has complete control over the Confederacy. The D.O.R.A. is urging that elections take place as soon as possible to safeguard democracy.
