All Hail Rattanjeetland
MAY 8, 2002 - The shockwaves from their humiliating defeat in the War of the Three Great Powers haunt Rattanjeetlanders still. Like most of his people, the Ethnarch was forced to change his thinking about Rattanjeetland's place in the world in light of the Empire's shockingly quick surrender in January.
"He may have done some wrongs but oh I love him, I've always loved him", said Tatayana Petroskaya, a long-time supporter of the Ethnarch's policies. "He will bring hope to this land again, All Hail Rattanjeetland!"
On May 6, the Ethnarch made public his country's new peace-oriented and economic agenda on the national website. However, many note that the country had been pursuing such a policy, albeit unofficially, ever since the catastrophe of the War of 2K2. Nevertheless, the public declaration remains important since it signifies a full-fledged change of course in Rattanjeetarr foreign policy.
From being the seed of international diplomacy, Rattanjeetland has now become a neutralist democracy. The Ethnarch reiterated his pledge to Congressional Parliament, and surprisingly announced his support for self-determination - the guiding principle of Marcusburg foreign policy. Some wonder if the Ethnarch's new foreign policy may have something to do with stalled free trade negotiations between Marcusburg and Rattanjeetland.
Although not as significant as a similar Samchoragean change in foreign policy last year that resulted in the collapse of the government there, many Samchorageans are wondering if Rattanjeetland is experiencing a 'Fifth Era' of its own.
