May 28, 2002 - Two minutes before 7PM the people of Wendorra la Vella heard a strange whirling sound in the distance. Just one minute later, they saw their national air base destroyed by an awesome electromagnetic wave. As jets exploded into a thousand pieces, windows in the main structure shattered and walls toppled over like a deck of cards - some immediately erupting in flames.
Although shocked, Wendorrans were well prepared for the possibility of a Samchoragean attack. With their Queen unavailable, the military fell back onto its contingency plans and rallied to the offensive. However, a miserably led widespread attack on Samchorage failed and gave the President an opportunity to strike back harder than before.
From the War Chamber in the Presidential Palace, Samchorage successively destroyed the remnants of the insignificant Wendorran military. Fielding scores of reporters in the National Park, cabinet ministers stated that the President had given Wendorra la Vella ample time to publicize its agreement to Neorikspolitik and that the Queen's stalling tactics would no longer be tolerated.
Accompanying the usual assortment of jets and missiles streaking across the Wendorran sky was a news helicopter broadcasting the events of the war home. In Downtown Samchorage, business workers rushing home from work stood fixated to news tickers that had been modified to show the helicopter's feed. With each hit on Wendorra la Vella, a thunderous cheer erupted and instantaneous opinion polls recorded rises in the President's approval rating.
Within fifteen minutes the Wendorran government ordered its troops to lay down their arms. Once the message was received, 30,000 Samchoragean soldiers entered the country from the Confedland province. As the Queen still remains unavailable, international reaction to the incident has been muted thus far, but public opinion in Samchorage and Wendorra are quite apparent.
"Why have they done to this us? Wendorra La Vella has been through hardships before, and we'll do it again. Once the Mapp sees this injustice, they will come to our aid. We have done nothing wrong!", exclaimed one Wendorran woman when interviewed by a Marcusburg news crew outside the Polimento (Wendorran Parliament). Meanwhile another Marcusburg reporter in jubilant Downtown Samchorage recorded a transit worker as saying, "Finally the Wendorrans have been crushed. The world is on our side. They will not prevent us from fulfilling our destiny."
