For weeks protesters demonstrating against the tyranny of the GX were bussed in from neighboring Jared to get their message across to the international ambassadors gathered inside the Winglaggio for the Congress of Wingtucky.

However, after the results of the convention were released to the public early this morning, the demonstrators went berserk. In what has been widely dubbed 'the Hanseatic Congress', since all but one of the issues are related to the SPQH, the League suffered a crushing blow on nearly all issues.

By a huge margin, the SPQH was denied Great Power status. Although close, charges against the GX amounted to nothing. The only bright spot was the termination of the Novaran embargo; unfortunately, the embargo against Jared was extended to at least the next next Congress. Meanwhile, two issues go to the Great Powers Forum for a final decision.

Apart from the League, most nations have some reason to celebrate, stemming largely from the adoption of the Vickrey system by the Auction House. Most non-government organizations applauded the move, stating that poorer nations now have a chance to advance quicker as well. Nevertheless, reaction is expected to be strongest in the Hanseatic countries where extremism is expected to skyrocket as a result of the Congress.
