June 24, 2002 - Reacting to the Congress of Wingtucky, the Hanseatic Parliament, comprised of appointed deputies from throughout the League (SPQH), passed a resolution ordering all Denisian and Jaredian economic assets to Novara. The move would effectively sidestep the prolonged economic embargoes on the former two nations since the Novaran embargo was dropped in the Congress.

However, once the Queen of Novara was notified, she refused to abide by the Hanseatic motion, citing that her nation was unfairly being used by the other two members of the SPQH. Novara's move raises controversy because according to the Hanseatic constitution, any member-state may guide the actions of the entire League. Therefore Novara must abide by the Jaredian motion and the League must abide by the Novaran rejection as well. Unsurprisingly, the diplomatic wrangling has generated mass confusion.

When reached for comment, the Queen stated she was in close negotiations with the Ladyman at the Maison d'Okavongo. Meanwhile, many Jaredians are demanding the secret votes in the Congress be publicized to ensure that there was no vote tampering. The Secretary-General immediately denied that request. On a side note, the Denisian government has not commented on the situation, though experts suspect that its stance is similar to that of Jared.
