July 5, 2002 - Generally seen as the weakest of the Great Powers, and by some as not even worthy of Great Power status, Rattanjeetland received a huge boost by the Jaredian abdication. The former capital of Jared, with its grand library, museum, towers, and castle, now lies in the Ethnarch's hands. However, more importantly, the new Rattanjetarr province is connected to the Steel Glider bullet train network - one of the main engines of economic growth on the Mapp.

As a result, the Ethnarch now has access to an additional 120 million consumers. This enormous market is reflected by an impressive gain in Rattanjeetarr cashflow. In June alone, the Rattanjeetarr economy became the fifth most powerful on the Mapp after years of lacklustre performance. Furthermore, although unrelated to the abdication, a new free trade agreement reached with Marcusburg, in a long and tedious process of gradual detente, also helped to boost the national economy.

In addition, the highly educated and literate Jaredian workforce from the former capital proved to be a shot in the arm, as the Rattanjeetarr standard of living rose to ninth overall on the Mapp, thereby accelerating a long process of civil revival throughout the Empire.

Meanwhile in the cut-throat baby boom race on the Mapp, the incorporation of the former Jaredian capital into Rattanjeetland pushed the national population to new heights, making it third after Marcusburg and Lindsholm respectively. The development has raised resentment in Pauldelphia where surpassing the Rattanjeetarr population in May was a source of national pride. That nation now drops to fourth.

Not to be forgotten, the Rattanjeetarr military also benefited from the abdication. Coinciding with the reconstruction of a mega military base in the northeast, the Ethnarch received the rights to half of the Novaran superbase. Rattanjeetland's strength now exceeds what it was during the disastrous War of the Three Great Powers.

The Jaredian abdication has lifted the spirit of the Rattanjeetarr people, as many ambitious new projects are planned for the country, for example, a unique Fruitopia fountain to complement the new taco-themed amusement park in the northeast. Even though the abdication has also greatly benefited Denisia and to a much lesser extent Samchorage, its effects have been most profound in Rattanjeetland.
