Buenos Altos Requests Independence

BUENOS ALTOS - After eight months of relative calm and a reversal of economic fortune, Buenos Altans are quietly joining a peaceful movement petitioning the current GX administration to grant the country independence.

Dubbed the 'Orchestra Movement', the leader of the petition is a world famous conductor who is a Buenos Altan ex-patriate known as the 'Grand Maestro'. During the tumultuous War of 2K2, many Buenos Altans hid inside their homes as war raged on outside and soldiers patrolled the streets. The local newspaper was printed on used music score paper, leading many to pick up music during their spare time since the war closed all shops and businesses.

Consequently today Buenos Altans are the most music-literate people on the Mapp and daily concerts are held free in front of the Docquestag - the new Parliament of the country. Although life has vastly improved under the GX administration as Buenos Altans find themselves awash in cash derived from free trade pacts with GX nations and new crown corporations opened up by the government, many still long to carve their own path on the Mapp. In no time at all the Maestro's idea got set in motion.

A preliminary meeting between the Maestro and the Governor of Buenos Altos went well and the latter has passed word onto the Chateau du Feu, the Riksholm, and the Fletplase. Initial word has it that both Marcusburg and Lindsholm are enthused by the idea while the Gorditan Senate has yet to debate the issue since most Senators are still on summer holiday. In the meantime, the Orchestra Movement is putting the finishing touches on the petition they will present to the Docquestag sometime later this month.
