Marcusburg and Rattanjeetland Rattled by Dual Abdications

On November 21, 2000, the Parliaments of Marcusburg and Rattanjeetland voted on the annexation of the Portalto and Samchorage respectively into their own respective empires. The Fletplase (Marcusburg Parliament) defeated the motion with only 31.9% support. A subsequent vote of non-confidence passed and the government collapsed. In the elections held the next day, the Imperial Party was replaced by the Liberal Party.

Meanwhile in Rattanjeetland, the Adiposia (Rattanjeetland Parliament) defeated the annexation motion with only 42.2% support. However, the Ethnarch used his veto and the motion was rammed through Parliament. Subsequently, the Samchorage people, newly annexed, felt that their voice would not be heard and rose up in civil obedience.

278,595 Samchorageans waged attacks on the Rattanjeetland army, 478,455 strong, until all but 34,268 rebels remained. Right after the first attack from the military, the rebels surrendered as many of their comrades had fallen and the Ethnarch granted a concession - the Adiposia was given the power to veto decisions in which less than 20% support is granted in the Parliament.

When the blood splattered and the dust cleared, the Rattanjeetland population was reduced to 522,859. The loss in population spurred the Ethnarch to attack Wendorra la Vella in the Wendorra Blunder.
