Samo-Lindsholmic Tension

MARCUSBURG - At a meeting of the Great Powers Forum on November 7, the Lindsholmic ambassador to Congressional Parliament (CP) strongly denounced Samchoragean foreign policy in the strongest possible terms. In private, however, other ambassadors report foul language was involved.

The violent reaction came as the Samchoragean ambassador urged the Great Powers to meet to consider lifting the economic embargo imposed on his country as a result of the Weimaran invasion. By a margin of 4-1, the motion was defeated with only the Rattanjeetarr ambassador in support. Upon casting his vote, the Lindsholmic ambassador addressed the General Assembly in denouncing the Samchoragean motion. Meanwhile, an attempt to revive the Great Powers combat bonus issue was struck down by the Secretary-General on the grounds of the Anti-Filibuster Act.

Still stinging from a GX rejection of his original attempt at renegotiating the Riksholm treaty on November 6, the President of Samchorage sent the Prime Chancellor of Marcusburg a new Samoneorikspolitik proposal on the 7th. When relayed to the Supreme Viceroy of Lindsholm later that day, the Lindsholmic ambassador to CP also denounced the new proposal in his speech that criticized Samchoragean foreign policy. After sitting down, microphones recorded the ambassador deliberately muttering obscenities.

At a routine CP committee meeting the following day, the Samchoragean ambassador was also heard expressing the exact sentiments as his Lindsholmic counterpart the day before. Observers note that Samo-Lindsholmic tensions have reached a new low since the infamous Zeradit War. Relations began to deteriorate when Lindsholm quietly supported an unofficial idea from the Gorditan ambassador to extend the Samchoragean embargo to Wendorra la Vella. Due to legal reasons, the idea was never implemented.

In contrast, many point to the upswing in Samo-Rattanjeetarr relations as the Ethnarch's representative to CP was the only ambassador of five to support the Samchoragean motion. It does not come as a surprise since Samchorage ordered Wendorra la Vella to cede a large chunk of territory in the southeast to Natharctica, which is under direct Rattanjeetarr control.
