A Confederate Lebensraum
El-Hussaq, Rattanjeetland, and Kamograd Make Waves Across the Mapp

Directly following the Wendorra Blunder, the leader of Wendorra la Vella and the Ethnarch of Rattanjeetland reached agreement on November 24, 2000. In return for becoming a member of the Rattanjeetland Confederacy, the leader of Wendorra la Vella receives jurisdiction over her past lands and half of the disputed land between the Ethnarch and herself.

Meanwhile in the northwest, unsettling rumbles occurred within the Republic of El-Hussaq, another member of the Rattanjeetland Confederacy. Buoyed by victory in the invasion of Noe and facing a lack of land brought on by accelerated growth and development, the President of El-Hussaq looked for new land around his propserous nation.

Although the details remain unclear, all that is certain is that the Marcusburg Ambassador to Rattanjeetland was recalled and the Ethnarch was forced to do the same with his ambassador. When the Marcusburg Ambassador returned to Rattanjeetland, the Ethnarch greeted him personally and the Empress of Lizbonn declared her state had become a Marcusburg protectorate, and a member of the Phalanx Treaty Organization (PTO).

To the south of El-Hussaq, the Republic of Kamograd, was searching for new lands in order to support its burgeoning economy. On the same day, the President of Kamograd introduced universal conscription and sent 25,000 soldiers to occupy Jenneva on 9:00 in order to test the abilities of his newfound army.

Following the spectacular success of Kamopolitan troops, the President of Kamograd announced his membership in the Rattanjeetland Confederacy as an El-Hussaqi protectorate. Experts have called the arrangement quite compatible as it unites together two like-minded nations: both are belligerent and need more land, in effect pursuing a policy of lebensraum.

Enacting the unofficial policy of lebensraum, the President of El-Hussaq seized the Steldoradan colony to his west on November 27, 2000 after claiming that spies from Steldorado were after El-Hussaqi technology. Without people or structures, the High Priestess of Steldorado could all but watch her distant outpost in the northwest succumb to the ambitions of a rising republic.

On the next day, the 28th, the President of Kamograd formally annexed Jenneva into the Republic through absorption of the Jennevan Treasury. The funds were enough to pull Kamograd out of debt. The President had enough money left over to transfer 100,000K to El-Hussaq as a gesture of friendship and to pull El-Hussaq out of Debtcon 3. The good news for El-Hussaq did not stop there as Natharctica Territory agreed to become another El-Hussaqi protectorate.

However, the President of Kamograd also had other plans. On the same day after transfer of the funds, he sent a 10,000 man force south of Kamograd proper to secure his territorial integrity. Apparently at 7:00AM of that day, a Kamograd school bus full of children was attacked by a terrorist cell supported by the Kafobrenan government. In reponse, 4,000 Kamograd paratroopers were on their way to Kafobrena in order to prevent such attacks from occurring in the future.

At the last minute, the Marcusburg Ambassador notified the President of El-Hussaq, who vetoed the proposed Kamograd incursion into Kafobrena. Instead, El-Hussaq sent troops into Kafobrena to guarantee her sovereignty - in effect, to protect her. At that point, the Prime Chancellor of Marcusburg and the President of El-Hussaq agreed that the troops stationed there would be for the protection of Kafobrena only. Any move perceived as threatening by the El-Hussaqi troops would be met by "measures much stronger than the recall of an ambassador and the possible cancellation of treaties between Marcusburg and the Confederacy". On these terms the Prime Chancellor, the President, and the Ethnarch agreed.

Finally, the President of El-Hussaq turned his eyes towards Steldorado Prime. Right before attacking, however, the President relented and decided to pursue a more diplomatic avenue of action. The matter of Steldorado Prime has not yet been resolved as an offer to join the Confederacy, made by the President of El-Hussaq, to the High Priestess of Steldorado, has not been responded to. Later that day, the failure to attack Steldorado was met by word that the ruler of Noe had surrendered to El-Hussaq, calling him "a noble and just leader". The Federative Republic of Noe had been successfully annexed, in stark contrast to the Wendorra Blunder made by the dominant Confederate member.
