Reunification Crisis

GORDITAS - Although the situation is less volatile, the fallout caused by an East El-Hussaqi mobilization with the initial intent of reunifying the El-Hussaqs continues. Not surprisingly, the atmosphere between the GX and East El-Hussaq remains quite tense.

Earlier today, the Supreme Viceroy of Lindsholm ordered 250,000 troops into West El-Hussaq to accompany the 100,000 Marcurean and 15,000 Gorditan soldiers already stationed there. The Supreme Viceroy also expressed a willingness to open reunification talks with President El Cid II of East El-Hussaq, echoing the Prime Chancellor of Marcusburg's willingness to do the same that was announced yesterday.

In the meantime, the Prime Minister of Gorditas, although at first dismissive of talks, has now agreed to them. However, 15,000 Gorditan troops have been transferred out of West El-Hussaq and 300,000 have been moved into Kronos province, which neighbours East El-Hussaq. Gorditan border patrols have become frequent. Although the troops were on high alert earlier, that order has now been revoked.
