EAST EL-HUSSAQ - Momentum appears to have petered out for the El-Hussaqi reunification process.
After the GX presented the East El-Hussaqis with their draft of terms relating to reunification on January 27, both sides agreed to postpone ratification of the treaty on the 28th. The concern rose from a proposed term in which the GX would be supplied with a number of strucpoints from President El Cid II. Whereas GX plenipotentaries stated that the building rights could be easily acquired, their East El-Hussaqi counterparts disgreed.
Nevertheless, all four countries agreed that President El Cid II should place a formal bid on a strucpoint package at the Congressional Auction House in Rattanjeetland. On Feburary 3, Congressional officials announced that East El-Hussaq had won the building rights with a 500 million alto bid.
However, to the surprise of some observers, President El Cid II decided to use the strucpoints for construction instead of leverage in the reunification talks. Furthermore on February 4, East El-Hussaq began work on building a space launch centre. The move comes after a new space agency was established in Rattanjeetland - RASTA.
Although some have speculated that there may be some cooperation between Rattanjeetland and East El-Hussaq due to their historical links, the rumours remain as pure speculation. However, should the musings be true, Rattanjeetland and East El-Hussaq would be the second entity capable of launching spacecraft on their own, after Marcusburg.
