MIKETON - Without warning, a joint Miketon-Pauldelphia attack force entered Shannli on February 24, 2003.

50,000 troops each from Miketon and Pauldelphia crossed the Shannlinese border at 2:58PM after receiving orders from their central commands just after 11AM. Even with no military, the people of Shannli decided to resist the invaders. A ragtag force of volunteers numbering in the thousands was quickly assembled to fight the troops.

Mustering whatever explosives and gunpowder they could find, the Shannlinese resistors ambushed and killed a small platoon of Pauldelphian soldiers stationed by the Foundation of Mommies, the Shannlinese Parliament. The resistors were quickly put down by Miketonian troops.

In the meantime, Pauldelphian troops fanned out throughout the country and eliminated any remaining resistance. By 3:13PM, Miketon and Pauldelphia had taken control of the defiant country. The Princess of Shannli has fled into exile with the royal court. Civil officials remaining in Shannli have refused to issue a formal surrender but are cooperating with the occupying forces.
