An unusually quiet week followed the lightning-fast Neodickensian invasion of Kafobrena's northwestern colony. Rumours circulated that the Kafobrenan Empress would issue a formal protest and that Rattanjeetland would spearhead an international expedition to liberate the country. However, they were just that - rumours.

Instead of a unilateral ultimatum, the Ethnarch of Rattanjeetland put forth a motion to Congressional Parliament rather belatedly on May 28. In the Hall of Affiliates where the Great Powers meet, the motion was greeted with apathy. Aside from Rattanjeetland, delegates were busy with designing the upcoming 'Tour de Mapp'.

By the time Forum Resolution 14, which ordered New Dickens out of Kafobrena, was passed on the morning of May 31, Kafobrena's fate was all but sealed. While Rattanjeetland and Siggary quickly agreed to the resolution, the GX countries dragged their feet.

Even though Resolution 14 calls on New Dickens to leave, the motion proved toothless as it did not authorize the use of force. Rattanjeetarr officials were unable to reconvene in time to put forth another resolution and so the Kafobrenan colony legally became incorporated into the Neodickensian Empire at 12:44 AM on June 1, 2003.

While many internationalists are obviously disappointed with the Universalistic Dictator's aggression, others are even more upset with the Kafobrenan Empress's apathy towards the fate of her country and her people who once held such promise.
