Ambitious militaristic goals and imprudent financial planning has led to New Dickens Peninsula and Nosheenada declaring bankruptcy.
Officials in Congressional Parliament have rang the alarm bell over the latest round of economic crises, as the world has only seen one bankruptcy case in the past - that of New Weimar.
However this time around, both New Dickens and Nosheenada are on the brink of financial ruin while Elanyons and Nahegypt slowly head towards the same abyss.
In New Dickens, the Universalistic Dictator's reconstruction program following the Jeeto-Dickensian War led to massive spending in order to get the country's military on its feet again. As an aside Congressional Parliament has imposed a truce between Rattanjeetland and New Dickens, much like that ending the Korean War.
In Nosheenada, a strong and proud militaristic tradition led to ever grander designs for the nation's armed forces. The Supreme Ruler of that country ordered a super military base be built - the first of its kind in a middle power - at a huge cost despite the pleas of international economists.
The Parliament has already sent officials to both New Dickens and Nosheenada although the latter refuses to present an audience for what many in the country deem the 'pathetic world pacifists'.
Meanwhile, Elanyons and Nahegypt are also steadily on their way to monetary turmoil. Unlike their militaristic counterparts, these countries have been victim to relentless inflation driven by the astounding growth of the Mapp's most powerful economies.
It is with these countries in mind that the Secretary-General is set to address the world in an attempt to persuade countries to throw open their borders to free trade and actively encourage developing powers to foster trade links.
Although rumours are also circulating that Congressional Parliament will strongly condemn all rich nations for their deplorable donation rate to the World Development Agency, many are expecting an especially vicious criticism of so-called "alto fat cats" like Siggary and Pauldelphia.
These governments are perceived as doing nothing but stockpiling hordes of money rather than investing into their own people, let alone helping peoples abroad.
The Secretary-General's statement is expected before the end of the week.
