After a 13-month economic embargo is lifted against his country, the President of Samchorage orders a reversal of the 'Grand Cession' that saw the formation of a Greater Wendorra.
The decision was made at 11:45AM on August 16 from the Presidential Palace in New Hope, the first time the Press Conference Room was used there since June of last year. All press releases since then had been issued from the Polimento, the makeshift political centre of Wendorra la Vella.
As a result of the so-called 'Grand Reunison', all traditional Samchoragean lands held by Wendorra are to be restored, as are all multinational corporations and diplomatic embassies. There is speculation that the newly restored Samchorage may absorb traditional Wendorran lands as well.
Although the move is largely symbolic, many see the development as the harbinger of a Samchoragean renaissance. In the month of July alone, an intense civil development campaign attracted nearly one million citizens to the former Samchorage-Wendorra.
The Secretary-General is once again under pressure from Great Power lobbyists requesting that Samchorage be nominated for greatness in the next Congress. Experts say that to maintain an odd number of Great Powers, Congressional Parliament would most likely nominate Denisia as well in this case.
Financial analysts also note that the nature of the international economy may change as the inefficient Samo-Wendorran trade system comes to an end. Many multinationals were redundant and managed poorly as hierarchical confusion overtook their CEOs upon news of the Grand Cession.
However, a renewed Samchorage would have the largest trading apparatus on the whole Mapp, with an armada of 26 multinational corporations.
Many are also expecting a more assertive (read: aggressive) Samchorage in the wake of the new policy of responsible determination. Now that victimized countries must voice their opposition to invasion, aggressors have much greater latitude in how they deal with negligent powers.
There is already evidence of this assertiveness as provided by an immediate call from Samchorage to revive Coneorikspolitik, which was shut down in late June due to severe lack of interest.
