El-Hussaq Breaks Convention
President El Cid II has violated the so-called 'Occidentale Convention' which made the region a demilitarized zone.

Citing a complete shortage of free land in the remainder of the republic, El-Hussaq declared it had no choice but to construct a vast new air military base in the far west.

When Congressional officials contacted El Cid II over the implications of his decision, the President claimed that his country did not support the convention when it was ratified in the Congress of Danikistan and proceeded with construction.

It is not clear what Congressional Parliament plans to do in response to this development. International reaction remains uncertain as well.

The super military base pushes the El-Hussaqi forces over one million. However with the limitations of the Riksholm Treaty intact, President El Cid II only really has about 200,000 troops at his disposal. All countries limited by the Riksholm Treaty are currently in compliance with the indemnity document.
