Joelombia Conscripts
While the rest of the Mapp sleeps, the Prime Minister of Joelombia is pushing ahead with reforms that will make his country a rising star in the south.

On November 3, Joelombians were stunned to hear on national television that the first two-born of each family would be apprehended by the military and placed into a conscription program. By November 6, 75,375 had entered into the ranks of the newly formed Joelombian Army.

Some of the recruits are to form the foundation of a future space program of so-called 'Pepinnauts' (Joelombian astronauts). This development comes in light of Siggary announcing the founding of its space program just weeks earlier as the Queen reshuffled her cabinet in the Amiconsegi.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister also enacted a comprehensive housing program aimed at erecting tenements for thousands of new people projected to immigrate to Joelombia upon the opening of a planned eight new multinational corporations.

While Congressional Parliament generally applauds the move, officials are concerned that they cannot help Joelombia in its quest for modernization, as the Prime Minister has not approved the posting of a High Commissioner in his country.

As a side note, only a handful of countries have opted to open High Commissions in their countries, leading many to openly speculate about a Congressional conspiracy devised by the new radical Secretary-General.
