In a show of international statesmanship, the Principal Councillor of Octavton has sent an invitation to all the leaders of the new countries in Terra Exortus to join an alliance.
Called the 'Neocivic Agreement', the alliance is an economic pact between member-states to prevent domestic markets from being flooded from goods made abroad in foreign countries. In addition to protectionism, the Agreement opens the borders of member-states for mutual trade and economic activity.
The Principal Councillor emphasized that the alliance is not political or military in nature. This has left some calling the Neocivic Agreement a reincarnation of the Hanseatic League without the League's unsuccessful political ambitions.
Indeed, newspapers in Octavton report that the government's position is one of peaceful economic growth. Some editorials have even gone as far to suggest that Siggary is a worthy role model for the bustling country in the new east (Terra Exortus).
Current members of the Neocivic Agreement include Isle of Brock, Igoslavia, Octavton, and Weimar.
