Throughout the four corners of the Mapp, civil unrest dominates the headlines of newspapers across the world for the month of August especially in...
...JANGSTOWN
Once a bustling trading hub in Nexusland, this country has slowly become a backwards state careening into third world status. Although a Lindsholm protectorate, the Supreme Viceroy has no jurisdiction inside the country, and only protects Jangstown from foreign threats. The people are demanding progress and a better life.
...WILHELMPLATZ
Fighting erupted in Wilhelmplatz as a peaceful protest against Mad King Wills turned violent on August 15. A rare event, Marcusburg sent its top envoys to the country to interfere in domestic affairs in an attempt to restore order. The future of Wilhelmplatz has long been in doubt as Marcusburg has been negotiating with Stevensk and Joelombia for months over the potential transfer of jurisdiction.
...DANIKISTAN
A massive public strike has crippled the economy as the people here protest the slow partitioning of their country under Herwanese rule. Unable to steer the country away from bankruptcy, the President of Herwan sold 80% of the country to Conton and the remaining 20% to Marcusburg. This has led to public discontent in this once thriving metropolis in Terra Occidentale.
...MATTHEWOPOLIS
This prison city-state has seen its share of riots in the past but none as bad as this. For the first time in history, police in Marcusburg and Samchorage have had to put barricades along their borders to contain the extremely angry prisoners incarcerated in the one correctional facility that defines the country. Many analysts believe this is a country without a future.
...NOSHEENADA
The shaky rebel government in control of this country faces a new threat this time around: its own people. The neofascists can no longer claim to represent the people anymore as neodemocrats (distinct from loyalists to the former regime of the Supreme Ruler) continue to gain support from the peasantry after the latter fail to see their lives improve. Could another revolution be in the works? Only time will tell.
