Octavton Consolidates Power
Weimar and Isle of Brock are annexed as the Principal Councillor of Octavton reorganizes the Octavton Community.

Saddled with far-flung, distant, and a bewildering number of countries in his domain, the Principal Councillor of Octavton ordered the annexation of Weimar into Shannli and Isle of Brock into Lebrianon on October 17, 2004. Further plans include the annexation of Tamarak into Octavton.

Octavian rule in Weimar began on July 23, 2004 when the former Weimaran Queen made an unexpected abdication to Octavian officials who were visiting her country at the time. The Isle of Brock abdicated to Octavton on July 20, 2004 after its former leader, the Big Daddy, was contacted by the Principal Councillor as part of an aggressive Octavian expansion plan designed to counter Hongolian and Herwanese expansion.

Originally, the Principal Councillor had intended to annex Tamarak into Octavton on October 17 on the heels of a national referendum held on September 12 in which 88.8% of Tamarakians favored annexation. However the move was delayed when it became uncertain whether Octavians would also favour such a move.

Further complicating matters was the power-sharing arrangement in Tamarak. When the former leader, the Commissioner, abdicated to Congressional Parliament (CP) on July 19 after having come under intense Octavian pressure, the former Secretary-General of CP transferred control of Tamarak to Octavton. In return, Octavton would run Tamarak in the best interests of Tamarkians.

Although cognisent of a potential annexation, the former CP Secretary-General decided to let the new CP President decide whether to approve or reject the annexation.

In a controversial move, the Rattanjeetarr Foreign Minister (new CP President), who took power on October 16, approved the Tamarkian annexation, paving the way for a legal transfer of power.

Today the Octavton Community stands as a power bloc of over 1.7 million people with a military half a million strong from four different countries. Tomorrow it could very well be three.
