New Dickens Peninsula Falls
Invoking Responsible Determination, the Ethnarch of Rattanjeetland has sent 100,000 troops into New Dickens Peninsula to save the country from its leader, the Universalistic Dictator.

Bad blood between the Rattanjeetarr and Neodickensian peoples has existed for years, as they have going to war twice ever since the Neodickensian people founded a state on the Mapp. In the first war (the Dickskrieg), Dickens Peninsula was destroyed and New Dickens was founded. In the second war (the Neodickskrieg), Rattanjeetland destroyed the military capability of New Dickens in response for the latter's invasion of Kafobrena. The world subsequently stopped trading with New Dickens, an embargo which stands to this very day.

The recent conflict was sparked by the revelation that over 400,000 refugees in the Congressional Parliament tent city were from New Dickens Peninsula. Controlling the Presidency of Congressional Parliament, Rattanjeetland decided it would be appropriate to invoke Responsible Determination on the Universalistic Dictator on November 30, 2004.

Without international approval, Rattanjeetarr troops crossed the wide expanse of Terra Praeforium and arrived in the northern province of New Dickens that night. The Universalistic Dictator ordered a general conscription as part of a strategy to "use all resources, call to arms", but until Rattanjeetarr troops opened fire there would be no fighting.

The first salvo came on the evening of December 1 as a devastating electromagnetic shockwave annihilated a military installation in the Neodickensian capital province. However most of the Neodickensian military had already left the country and the base was assumed to be empty. No casualties have been reported.

In the meantime, Neodickensian conscripts engaged Rattanjeetarr troops in vicious urban fighting along the streets of New Dickens' northern province. The Rattanjeetlanders won but at a cost of roughly 4,000 casualties on both sides.

By December 2, a general plea from the Universalistic Dictator had roused up a brigade of suicide bombers ready to strike the Rattanjeetarr force in the northern province. Indiscriminant bombings of troop positions cost just under 9,000 Rattanjeetarr soldiers their lives.

As the Rattanjeetarr army reeled from the onslaught of suicidal Neodickensians, there were unconfirmed reports from foreign media outlets in the New Dickens capital that a secret envoy from the Universalistic Dictator managed to sneak out to El-Hussaq to call for help. When questioned by reporters, El-Hussaqi officials declined to comment on the current situation.

The next day, Rattanjeetarr forces remassed while airplanes overhead launched a propaganda blitz by smothering the northern province with leaflets. Over a thousand Neodickensians, believing that their struggle was in vain, defected to the Rattanjeetlanders.

The stage was now set for a last battle between a couple thousand recalcitrant Neodickensian conscripts and the might of the Rattanjeetland armed forces. After a hard day-long fight, the Ethnarch received full control of the northern province, with loyal Neodickensians retreating to the capital far in the Mapp's southwest.

On December 4, an all-out assault began on the Neodickensian capital. The 100,000 Rattanjeetarr troops stationed in Ceren, Octavton (originally stationed in that country for protection against Zimbabnese aggression) were redeployed to Meanguera, Octavton where they crossed over into New Dickens.

The expeditionary army met stiff resistance but in the end the Neodickensian conscript army in the capital succumbed to Rattanjeetarr firepower, forcing the Universalistic Dictator and his cabinet to flee abroad.

In its place is a Rattanjeetarr-influenced administration consisting of a bicameral constitutional monarchy that aims to rule a demilitarized country dedicated to world trade and peace.
