With Forum Resolution 25 still active, ten Novaran soldiers moved into Giangibouti on January 10, 2005.
The development comes after the Giangiboutians had released an apology to the international community and withdrew from Wingtucky on January 4th. In addition, the country's leaders had demilitarized as a gesture of good faith indicating their newfound propensity for peace.
An international resolution allowing the use of military force against Giangibouti by any country on the Mapp had apparently scared the nation into an about-face. Although the goal of Resolution 25 had been reached, the world forgot to end its effect. So while the Novaran incursion may be construed as aggression, it technically does not meet the criteria.
But not being ones for diplomacy, the Giangiboutians immediately saw the Novarans as aggressors. Before they could set up camp, a mob of nearly 20,000 Giangiboutians rose up and slaughtered the Novaran soldiers. The Novaran government has yet to comment.
