Danikistan Affair Heats Up
Danikistan has been elevated to the class of Major Power by the CP Octavton Administration in response to alleged unfair business practices.

Complimenting the country's recent troubled and tumultuous history, the latest development in the Danikistan Affair erupted over a number of multinational corporations the Danikistanis constructed but which ended up on Hongolian soil. Danikistan, formerly a Middle Power, is exempt from paying differential taxes on constructing multinational corporations unlike its protector, the Major Power of Hongolia.

After raising a few eyebrows, Congressional Parliament has decided to clamp down on potential circumvention of the differential taxation policy by moving Danikistan up the stratification ladder even when the country's merits do not make it appropriate company for the likes of Octavton, Herwan, and Pauldelphia.

Reaction in Danikistan has been muted. While one may be expecting the Danikistanis to be jumping for joy, most realize that their country is being treated like a pawn by greater powers once again. Their attention, meanwhile, is fixated elsewhere as they eagerly await the results of the 2005 Jeetanic Host City Competition. A win would go a long way to assauging wounded pride.
