GX Dampens Reformation
While the international community handed a resounding vote of confidence to the Octavian President of Congressional Parliament (CP) by passing most of the 'Reformation' by a landslide in the Congress of Hongolia, further attempts to reform the Great Powers Forum have been blocked by the GX.

In the Congress, the world endorsed the Octavton-devised O-Index as the standard for determining whether a country became classified as Major, Middle, or Emerging. The possibility of whether the Index could apply to Great Powers was left open until after the Congress.

On April 9, 2005, the Octavian CP President went to the Great Powers Forum and presented Forum Resolution 29 - a wide-reaching array of options on how the Forum would run in light of the implementation of the O-Index.

Extending the Index to apply to Great Powers found immediate support from Rattanjeetland, which had earlier signed an economic union with the Octavton Community in March. However, the Resolution encountered reactionary resistance from Gorditas, Lindsholm, and Marcusburg (the GX) and was quickly voted down.

Within hours, the Marcusburg ambassador to CP recieved approval to put Forum Resolution 30 to a vote. Essentially a clearer and stronger endorsement of the status-quo, the GX passed the Resolution almost immediately with its majority in the Forum, leading to a rare diplomatic protest from Rattanjeetland over the "selfishness" of the three GX nations.

Interestingly, Siggary supported the GX on Resolution 30 but abstained from Resolution 29, citing its national interest. Although the struggle between those committed to reforming the Forum and those against has roots dating from the Jared Bill of 2002, the latest diplomatic row threatens to bring the issue into the limelight once more.

In addition, some speculate that should the situation escalate, the historic enmity between Lindsholm and Rattanjeetland may flare up again, leading to international instability.
