Samchorage Joins Race for Protectorates

SAMCHORAGE - While the Samokritzg has not voted on the issue yet, deputies appear ecstatic with the President's ability to acquire Tamark as a protectorate. Long frustrated by Samchorage's slow start in the race for protectorates, the war-like parliament stood in approval of the President's actions. Now recovered from the Pyrrhic War, the President appears ready to flex some muscle in international affairs.

Tamark agreed to the proposal in order to guarantee her sovereignty as an ever-expanding UCL (United Commonwealth of Lindsholm) surrounds her territory. The turning point which made the Samchorage proposal a reality were unconfirmed rumors surrounding a Pauldelphian design to annex Tamark. With a military base constructed in Pauldelphia, Tamark and Samchorage took hasty action.

Understanding the suspicion between Tamark and the UCL, the Supreme Viceroy of Lindsholm has patched up relations and a diplomatic arrangement once based on fear is now founded on mutual development and assistance. In fact, Tamark and Lindsholm have even gone so far as to agree on zones of control in newly acquired lands from the Land Rush. While Samchorage gains prestige, Tamark gains support and protection, and the UCL gains a new friend.

Initially, the Chief Hobo of Portalto viewed the development with weary eyes. However, with the inclusion of Portalto into the PTO, the Chief Hobo has adopted the official Marcusburg stance. The Prime Chancellor of Marcusburg has welcomed the development whole-heartedly, stating that a "strong Samchorage makes for a stronger Marcusburg".
