War Rages On!
Directly following the Ethnarch's declaration of neutrality for the Empire of Rattanjeetland, the Republic of Gorditas ordered a widespread conscription campaign, in preparation for further conflict. Meanwhile, after numerous attempts to break open the Samchorage Central Bank and de-crypt the elaborate Samchorage cyber-protection network pertaining to that nation's treasury, Kamogradian computer experts were able to penetrate the defenses and transfer all Samchorage financial assets to the Republic of Kamograd.
Now bolstered by an influx of capital, the President of Kamograd ordered an invasion of Wendorra la Vella, citing the ultimatum and the act of aggression committed against Nemangrade. Within minutes, Wendorra la Vella fell to the advancing Kamogradian forces. The rapid collapse of Wendorra prompted Samchorage to unleash a Ring of Fire around all its "free territories", that is, the territories of Samchorage still controlled by its President.
While the borders of Samchorage literally went up in flames, Lindsholm troops were mobilized against Kamograd - the very power it stepped in to protect against Samchorage only a day earlier. The Supreme Viceroy cited the defense of Wendorra la Vella against Kamogradian aggression as the reason for his intervention.
Surprisingly, a smaller Lindsholm ground division defeated a much larger Kamogradian invasion force which had stationed itself in Wendorra la Vella. Analysts credit the overwhelming victory to former Lindsholm battle experience against Kamograd during the War of 2K1.
As Wendorran citizens relished in the winds of liberty, the populace in Marcusburg reacted in disgust to the Kamogradian capture of Samchoragean financial assets. The Prime Chancellor then intervened to occupy Samchorage New Hope North and New Hope South in the hope that no further transfer of financial assets would be allowed. Meanwhile, Pauldelphia mobilized its armed forces, not for battle but for defense. The Pauldelphian East Battallion moved into a Lindsholm Colony to protect that territory.
In response to the intervention of the aforementioned powers, Kamograd embarked on a massive nation-wide conscription program until reaching its 80% maximum, as allowed under the Riksholm Treaty. Using the fresh conscripts, the President of Kamograd easily invaded and occupied Samchorage Terra Nova while digging an enormous trench spanning the whole western Kamogradian boundary.
However, now liberated from Kamograd, Wendorra la Vella ordered its troops fully on the offensive. Mostly untouched from the brief Kamogradian occupation, the able Wendorran military managed to destroy two key Kamograd military installations in its missile raids into both Kamograd Prime and Kamograd province.
Underestimating Wendorra's strength, the President of Kamograd focused on eradicating Lindsholm military installations. While Wendorran missile barrages pounded Kamograd, Kamogradian missiles all failed to penetrate the elaborate maze of missile defenses employed by Lindsholm and its allies. The counter-offensive did raise a few eyebrows though, as Gorditas actively attacked a military installation for the first time.
With its defenses holding steady, the Supreme Viceroy of Lindsholm ordered a devastating seismic wave on the whole of the Kamograd trench, resulting in casualties ranging in the hundreds of thousands as oil, wire, and dirt buried the conscripts alive. When the aftershocks reached the impromptu Kamograd military command post in Kamopolis province, generals assumed that they were effects of the successful Kamogradian offensive against Wendorra la Vella, which effectively destroyed that nation's military capability.
What the President did not realize was that yet another seismic wave was launched at the trench, resulting in more casualties and further weakening of the main Kamogradian defense of Kamopolis and conquered Samchorage Terra Nova. Simultaneously, an intense electromagnetic pulse obliterated the last operational air base in Kamograd. All along the river in Marcusburg and Rattanjeetland, spectators watched a giant and deadly fireworks display unfold.
Back at Lindsholm military command, the Supreme Viceroy of Lindsholm managed to reach a lend-lease arrangement with the Imperatore of Pauldelphia. In effect, Lindsholm would control all Pauldelphian missile batteries. Two blistering barrages of biochemical warheads were launched at the Kamograd trench. Only one attack group successfully hit the trench, while the others disintegrated in mid-air with its pathogens neutralized. Nevertheless, the trench was damaged substantially as it now stood at roughly 30% of its original strength.
Civilians in Kamograd, once confident of their nation's military success against Wendorra la Vella sat back in horror as they saw Kamograd being surrounded by Lindsholm and Gorditas. However, civilians had been largely spared in the overall conflict - until Lindsholm launched a seismic wave against a suburb in Kamogradian Prime. Around 140,000 people were swallowed alive by the earth or wounded in the ensuing damage. Although the Twin Kamograd Towers shook amidst the ground movements, no significant damage was incurred to the landmark.
Meanwhile, major broadcast networks all over the Mapp are currently announcing that an emergency plea by the President of Kamograd to the CEO of Miketon went unanswered. Nonetheless, one thing remains certain though - there is more bloodshed and turmoil to come.
